Mrs Dowsons Farm Park achieves national award

Mrs Dowsons has been accredited by the country’s top award body ‘Visit England’

The latest assessment, conducted by Visit England’s expert panel which assesses the country’s busiest and most iconic visitor attractions has approved Mrs Dowsons Farm Park as a quality assured visitor attraction.

It is the first year Mrs Dowsons have entered the scheme and were awarded the status.

Farm bosses have attributed the success to the huge new investments and new arrivals at the farm and visitors wanting to be part of the farm’s mission to educate about farming life.

Amanda Dowson, Mrs Dowsons Farm Park Owner, said:

“We are proud to be part of this fantastic scheme and to be awarded this status. In 2018 we now recognised as not only a top visitor attraction in the Lancashire but also nationally.”

“We know that our success is down not only to our amazing visitors who have moved to spend their leisure time with us because we are a leading fun and educational destination; ever single individual to walk through our gates is learning and helping educate school groups about farming life. We thank each and every one of them for their support.”

Mrs Dowsons Farm Park, a family run farm and education visitor attraction, currently supports over 100 registered charities and their projects each year.

The farm is also been awarded a certificate for excellence travel website, TripAdvisor

Tourism Officer Tom Pridmore said,

“I just want to congratulate Mrs Dowson and her team in achieving this standard, this popular farm attraction has won many awards in their short history.”

“Ribble valley tourism is recognised for quality with many award winning and accredited establishments.”

So far in 2018 the farm has got off to its busiest ever start to a year and last month unveiled ‘The Paddocks’ a huge expansion on the farm covering 10,000m2 with new paths, enclosures and interactive displays about conservation and nature that calls the farm home.

A host of new arrivals and developments for visitors are also set to open over the coming months including a transformation of the Lambing Live barn and alpaca enclosures.

Work is also underway on an immersive walk-through Nature Trail which allows visitors to get closer to the conservation work done at the farm for endangered native birds and bees.

The plans are designed to enhance the farm’s position as a top visitor attraction, conservation, animal and leisure attractions in the North West.
