Livestock Handler / Stock Person
Mrs Dowsons Farm Park are looking for a livestock handler/stock person to join a team assisting in providing a high standard of care to a variety of animals and caring for and milking a small dairy herd as part of the farm park experience.
The Role
.
Duties to include (but not limited to)
-
Preparation of feeds & daily feed run operations
-
Cleaning out of animal paddocks and enclosures
-
Closely monitoring animal health and well-being
-
Maintaining safe, clean, warm and dry environments for the animals

The ability to speak confidently to an audience of general public while milking the cows.

A genuine interest in animal welfare
-
Practical hands-on and hard-working approach to work
-
Capable to carry out manual handling
-
Ability to work alone and within a team
-
Good communication skills
-
Experience of outdoor working in all Seasons
-
Excellent time-keeping and attendance to work
-
A driving licence is desirable for the ability to drive a Tractor/trailer
Position Requirements
Quite simply, you'll be working in our fast-moving, high energy environment and we’re looking for a genuine smile plus an ability to connect with visitors and make them feel valued. This post is for those able to work weekends and school holidays, starting before 9 am and being able to work up to 7 pm, as part of a rota.
Position Attributes

Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must. You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service at a diverse range of tasks. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart, clean and approachable.

Pay Rate:

40 hours per week including weekends

Full training will be given.
