BEHIND THE SCENES..... Farmer Tom tells us his six top lambing tips.

The first of our lambs has arrived ahead of our spring opening, and there's plenty more on the way. Hello readers, Lambing is a huge event on the farm's calendar, I've been asked to give a little more of behind the scenes on how we cope working day and night to make sure our lambs get all the help they need. So here's my six top tips: 1. Last month we began our long term plans that will see us create new environments for a wider range of farm animals and rare breeds at the farm; and building on the success of our new Big Barn the remainder of the farm will be sensitively transformed through wider exploring of our honest approach to farming. While this work is being undertaken, w

A new herd has arrived at the Farm. The herd of water buffalo, which are named after popular south asian names, arrived just a few days ago. Water Buffalo live in swamps and forests in western and central Africa and are said to be the horse of the East. They are also seen in the wild, in dwindling numbers. Elliott Dowson, Farm Manager, said: "We’re ever so pleased with our new arrivals, mums Karuna and Maya are so far doing a fantastic job of caring for them. They’re only young at the moment but they’re already full of personality and have bundles of energy. Soon their markings will show as they become more gray to black with off-white “socks” and one or two white chevrons on the neck."
